Activities & Clubs

Croquet
One of the hidden gems here at Wexford is the tournament croquet lawn located across from the children’s playground. There is an active group of croquet players, and they welcome new players! Currently, they play “golf croquet” on Monday mornings and American six-wicket on Tuesday mornings. On the fourth Sunday of the month, they host “Wine & Wickets” – a golf croquet social, which is a fun way to meet some of your neighbors and get acquainted with croquet. White or light colored attire is generally worn and tennis shoes or other flat-soled shoes must be worn (to avoid damage to the lawn).

3D Discussion
Established in October 2011, Wexford 3D is an organized discussion group facilitated by Wexford members. The only policies are: a moderator is necessary; discussions will be positive and educational; and Wexford politics and complaints are off limits. Topics are usually pulled from current news or an invited Wexford owner/special guest (speaking on their own area of expertise).
Every week the discussion topic will be emailed to all those interested. (What started out as just a small group now includes over 150 members who have requested to be on the email list; regular attendance usually consists of 15 members.) Meetings are held every Monday at 9 am in the Harbour Center.

Wexford Wellness
Wexford Wellness’ mission is to promote health through exercise, education and nutrition. All Wexford members are encouraged to come out and explore new and different activities designed to promote YOUR health – from beach walks, bike excursions and kayak tours to healthy cooking demonstrations and guest speaker luncheons. This group is free of charge (some events may incur a fee depending on the activity).

Weekly activities offered include Water Aerobics, Yoga and a daily Walking group. Special events are often held on the third Wednesday of each month; other Wellness Wednesday activities and group discussions are also offered throughout the month. See the online calendar of events for more.
Book Club
The Wexford Women’s Book Club was formed in 2000. The purpose was to bring women together who enjoy reading and discussing different viewpoints regarding the book selection. Past selections have included: The Aviator’s Wife, Sarah’s Key, Cutting for Stone, Unbroken, The New York Mormon Singles Halloween Dance, Confederates In the Attic, The Help, Follow the River, Steve Jobs and Me Before You. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month, September through May, at 1 pm in various member homes. All are welcome!

Ladies Bridge
Bridge is a popular pastime at Wexford that meets weekly in the Clubhouse. It is social and open to all levels of play. The group meets every Wednesday at 1 pm. They play the Chicago Bridge format.
Mahjong
The Mahjong group meets weekly in the evenings at the Harbour Center.

Event & Travel Club (ETC)
Wexford ETC is an active group of members whose goal is to get to know one another better and explore social opportunities outside of the community. Established in the fall of 2007, ETC is run by a Board and Committee Chairs. It has four divisions for events – social, local, regional and national/international. Throughout the course of the year, they host approximately 3 social events, 8-10 local events, 3 regional events and 2-3 national/international events. Past social events have included progressive dinners, golf cart scavenger hunts, themed dinner parties and more! Local events vary from bowling (an annual favorite!) to the Hilton Head Symphony to Arts Center productions to Sand Gnats baseball games. Regional trips have included the Biltmore House in Asheville, museum tours and Broadway shows in Atlanta, Jaguars football games in Jacksonville and more! Nationally they’ve traveled across the country from Washington DC to Chicago to New York to San Francisco (Wine Country) – experiencing private tours at each. Internationally, they’ve been to Wimbledon, traveled on a Baltic Cruise and cruised along the Danube River.
Over 90 households participate each year. Membership meetings are held quarterly.
Wexford Cares-Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Wexford Cares is a group of Wexford volunteers who are willing to assist their neighbors in times of need. Many of our residents do not have extended family living in our area. Our volunteers are available to reach out and help! Volunteers can provide meals or pick-up and deliver take-out meals that are prepared by the Clubhouse.
