Wexford Plantation, Hilton Head Island, SC

The Wexford Clubhouse

The goal of Marathon Oil was to build the grandest residential community on the Eastern Seaboard since the 1920's. The Governor's Mansion in Williamsburg, The Congressional Club in Washington and the Cloisters in Sea Island were referenced as guides for quality.

The Clubhouse has four custom built fireplaces, a cocktail lounge, restaurant, grand ballroom, Pro Shop, men's and women's locker rooms and card rooms. The adjacent Pavilion features a spacious verandah and lawn for outdoor dining, an outside bar and grill, large pool, small children's pool, large cabana with showers and restrooms.

Designed in elegant British Colonial style, the Wexford Clubhouse is the congenial heart of this active community. From the hand cut and polished pink Georgian marble in the entrance foyer to the Tiffany glass skylights that bathe the public rooms in a warm, inviting glow, the clubhouse embodies the quality and grace that are the hallmarks of Wexford.

The Club's private dining room serves members and guests in a handsomely appointed harbourside setting, and a quiet lounge and bar offers a pleasant place to relax. Two private rooms are also available for special meetings, private parties or dining.

In addition, the Clubhouse features a thoroughly stocked, full service golf shop, staffed by PGA professionals and luxurious Men's and Ladies' locker rooms with card rooms and saunas.
